In the FLO MicroCourse Getting Started with Hybrid and HyFlex Learning, we looked at different definitions regarding course modalities and we considered a lot of the potential power and work implications for adding flexibility. As the week progressed, I thought it might be helpful to try to wrest these terms away from the technological implications and think more broadly about what flexibility as pedagogy brings to the discussion.

There were a few of us in this course (Helen, Naz, myself). Through the week, we discussed with colleagues what we understand by these terms, specifically HyFlex. I looked at how Beatty (2019) defines HyFlex and then looked at that as an instructional design question.
